Harlem rapper Hell Rell has decided to take the legal route against former group-mate Jim Jones and numerous labels in a dispute over owed royalties.
According to reports, Hell Rell, real name Durell Mohammed, is taking legal action against executives at Babygrande Records, Tycoon Entertainment, and E1 Music - formerly known as Koch Records - for which Jones is an A&R executive.
In official documents filed in New York County Court this week, Rell, claims the defendants cheated him out of money from the sale of his 2007 album For the Hell of It and its follow-up, Black Mask, Black Gloves, in 2008.
Hell Rell signed with Koch/E1 in 2007.
He recently inked a deal with Money Maker
Entertainment/EMI to release his third official album, Live From Hell, on October 6th, 2009.
