Queens bred rapper 50 Cent didn't let the cancellation of his hometown concert deter him from showing love to his old neighborhood.
The South Jamaica, Queens rapper bussed a number of families to New Jersey's Great Adventures and put on an hour plus set for them.
Fif's original plans of performing in Queens were shot down after failing to obtain a permit reportedly due to fear of gang violence taking place.
The "shot to morale" as Q-tip put it, wasn't enough to keep Fif from performing as he took the stage the following day in front of numerous families from the neighborhood
.
"I wanna thank y'all for getting on the bus," 50 said between songs.
"When I tried to do it in the 'hood ... they tell me I don't come through the 'hood. I come through. But you don't see me 'cause I'm usually in something where I can't be seen.
You see them over there, though, that's the motherfucking police
. They the ones that say I can't do it. I'm from the Southside!"
